"Fearless" is a song from my latest album; a song inspired by my friend- a breast cancer survivor! When I sat with Duane Steele to write music for my new record, we thought it would be wonderful to capture her spirit through music. The song is not a direct autobiography, but rather a song about a girl who graduates to womanhood- and her life experiences. This wife/mother in this story is faced with a challenge- a condition with her health which she addresses with love, courage, and faith.
From the people who had an early opportunity to listen to the album, a consistent response was that they all loved "Fearless". I felt strongly that this track was touching people's hearts. So I approached The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and asked if they would have a listen to the song.
The committee at The CBCF was excited to find the track was upbeat, driving, and had a message of strength, courage, love and hope. They felt that I and the song would a wonderful fit for the foundation and what they stand for. I have been appointed as the new Ambassador for The CBCF (Prairies/NWT region). Through music I will do all that I can with the foundation to help in creating a future without breast cancer.
